When our six days of work are done,
We watch for Friday's setting sun.
When crimson flames light western sky,
We know that holy time draws nigh.
At Friday, Sunset we'll delight,
To keep this Sabbath day and night.

Come Friday, Sunset, Sabbath rest,
Come holy day, that God has blessed.

As Friday's sun sinks from our view,
To God's command we must be true.
We put away our work, our plans,
The seventh day is God's, not man's.
We'll rest from all our weekday chores,
And mark the day the world ignores.

When all creation's work was done,
Then from His labor, God did cease,
And at that Friday's setting sun,
He made a day of rest and peace.

A thousand years is like a day,
And man has six to walk his way.
Then Christ will bring His Sabbath rest,
The thousand years that God has blessed.
We'll walk according to God's plan,

Can Time Be Holy?

The Bible's first chapter describes how God renewed the face of the earth to make it habitable for man. He did this work in six twenty-four hour periods of time. At the end of that time, on the seventh day, God rested. The second chapter of Genesis tells us that God made this day different from the preceeding six. He sanctified it. That is, He set it apart, He made it Holy, He blessed it.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

The Sabbath has the distinction of being the first thing that God made holy. The seventh day of the week remains holy to God. It is a memorial of creation. This is a truth God would have us remember and observe.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God commanded us to remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy by following His example of resting from the weekly routine of work. Sadly, most have forgotten about the Sabbath. Man has vainly tried to make other days holy in place of the Sabbath or has neglected the fourth commandment entirely.

The purpose of this site is to remind those who would worship God in spirit and truth of His enduring Sabbath Day command. We will provide information about the Sabbaths of God and other vital principles of Christian living, of worship of and service to our Creator.
